Welcome to the home of the 65th Edinburgh (Currie) Boys’ Brigade. We offer a wide range of activities for boys and young men aged 6 - 18 years old. We currently have over 50 members.

We hope you enjoy reading all about us and we’d love you to come and join us.

Queen's Badge Board
On 11 December 2011, after a special service in the Kirk, one of the 65th’s first Queen’s Men, Norman MacKelvey unveiled a board containing the names of its Queen’s Men to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Company. A special commemorative mug was also commissioned and all Boys and officers in the Company received one. An invitation is extended to all who would like to view the board to come along any Friday evening to meet with the Company from 7pm to 9.15 pm. The Company now looks forward to serving the Boys in Currie and surrounding areas for another 50 years.

Better Luck Next Time
Our younger boys in Company Section took part in an indoor football competition on Sunday 11th December. Unfortunately, we only won one match but sometimes it’s the taking part that counts!

50th Anniversary Celebrations
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the company and a special Dedication Service was held at Currie Kirk on Sunday 11th December at 10am. After the Service Norman McKelvey unveiled the brand new Queen’s Badge roll of honour listing every member who has achieved this prestigious award. Check out the Queen’s Men on the site and you will see that he was one of the first to receive his award in 1964.

Musicians Competition
Four of our boys entertained a packed audience on Tuesday 6th December. There were 18 entrants from seven companies who performed a wide variety of different music ranging from classical to contemporary. Our boys played really well and congratulations to Peter Sawkins who blew the judges away with his excellent piano playing to come 2nd overall.

Swimming Gala
Both our Junior Section and Company Section boys have been involved in swimming competitions. Our congratulations go to Ross Murray, who came second in the P6 backstroke, Peter Sawkins, who achieved second place in the P7 –S1 freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke events, Finlay Jackson, who came third in the P7 –S1 freestyle and backstroke competitions, Greg Hamilton for third in the P7 –S1 breast stroke and Andrew Sawkins, who won the S2 - S3 Backstroke. The boys also entered the relay and came second. This was certainly a big night of achievement for the 65th!
